North Carolina is one of most competitive states I have ever gone other than California and Nevada is getting there. I have always knew that Texas and New York always are competitive, but for the last few years I have been watching RPM and Greenwoods – they are becoming more competitive and never know who will win the crowns.
It was my first time to actually explore North Carolina. First stop I had to go is to Asheville. I have heard so much about it. I fell in love with Asheville and the mountains. I was so excited to be able to go to North Carolina USA because one of Pageantrocks girls of 2015 competed. I knew my girl will be in top five because she has the best team, Pageantrocks, Pageantsmart, and The Pageant Spotlight. She was well prepared this year.
One thing I loved about the RPM that I can get tickets for both nights and sit in the same seats and get to know people who sat near me at the show. I got to talk with lovely people next to me who’s girl competed as Garner. Johna, she caught my eyes and loved her on the stage and she was in top 5 for pageantrocks prediction, however, she didn’t placed in top 5. But she placed in top 10. I was mind blown away by how the stage was presented. It was very elegant, simple and unique. I also was impressed with Greenwood’s too. Greenwoods remind me of mini Las Vegas with awesome lighting features and the music was good because of the boom feelings for me.
I predicted top 5/6 not too bad – 3 out of 5. Chapel hill was the dark horse that I immediately saw on the stage and really like her presence. Mary Ellen Moore. It’s no surprise for Julia Dalton to be in top 5. I also wasn’t surprised about Devin Gant in top 5. Of course, my girl, Cassie too!
My favorite part of the whole evening – the evening gown!! My favorite dresses of all in Miss division – Devin, Victoria, Mary Ellen, and Cassie. I have noticed that two pieces dresses are becoming popular which I am not too fond of it but Mary Ellen and Victoria definitely know how to wear them.
As for teen: I knew South Charlotte would win because of her opening dress was amazing and the only stand out. I also loved Winston-Salem (Kaitryana), North Raleigh (Abrianna), and Raleigh-Durham (Selena) evening gowns the best. I was surprised to not see Selena Price in top 5. I was right about 3/5 for teen. I knew that Ashleigh, Kaitryana and Jane would be in top 5 after seeing them in preliminary.
Often, we as the audience don’t understand why some of girls didn’t place higher than they should be. That is because the judges know them personally through interviews that we don’t know what they talked about. I was a judge for a few pageants so I can understand the outside of box and see how the picks could be placed.
One thing as observer never never let anyone see how upset you are on the stage at the end when all girls get together to be there for the announcement for runner ups and winners. I have seen a few girls were really upset. That can change peoples thinking after seeing the action. Momma Karla told me once this amazing quote and that has been stuck in my mind and I always tell my girls ” stay classy and humble” There were some girls need to take that advice.
I have seen so many girls have great potentials but they really need coaches to help them to brush up and advance to at least 15 or 10 or 5.
Jane, Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2015 is someone that we should watch for top 5 for Miss Teen USA 2015.
