Every year I always look forward to watch Miss Universe on television. One day, I would want to attend Miss Universe in person. This year it is in Miami. Miami is one of my home that I come often – so it wouldn’t that special for me because I have always think its magical to attend Miss Universe in another country. That’s one of my dreams and I know I will make it to one of those someday.
This year is FIERCE! I can’t make up my mind about who will capture the crown. I think it can be anyone at this moment. However, latina girls have been dominating for years – it started strong from year 2007 runs to 2011 with only one break in between which the crown went to Angola. I was happy that Angola won because she’s gorgeous and a sweetheart in person when I met her. Then it went back to 2013. So I am wondering if there will be another one this year. If a latina girl win this year – it would have to go to Spain or Colombia. Since 2007 to 2010, they were from either South America or Mexico and 2014 will go back to latina again.
I had a hard time deciding who should belong in top 20, 10, and 5. However, there are two girls that I do believe that will be standing at the end for the crown would be Colombia and Spain. Those two girls got my eyes and attention. I would be happy to have one of them win the crown.
Spain: She’s stunning. One of the best contestants that they send from Spain. She’s my new favorite Spain Universe other than Miss Spain Universe 2001 (when Denise, Puerto Rico won). In my opinion, she NAILED the whole preliminary show. Her dress is gorgeous.
Colombia: This girl is another favorite Colombia Universe other than Taliana Vergas, 1st runner up to Dayana Menedoza, Venezuela. Her dress is to die for. I think it can be on any red carpets that JLO or other girls would wear it. Theres nothing else I can say about this girl because she leaves me speechless every time when I see pictures of her and at the preliminary night.
Remaining top 5:
Ukraine: Diana blew my breath away when she stepped out in her evening gown. I can’t even pass this gown. It keeps running in my mind. Thats EXACTLY what we, (judges, die hard core fans, fans and others) wanted to see that will keep talking a long time. She was perfect on the stage with her gown. I see that a lot of people don’t have her in top 5 as well a lot don’t have Ukraine in 2010 and 2011 when they placed as 1st and 3rd runner ups. So I wouldn’t rule her out for top 5.
Australia: I love Tegan! She’s the best blonde girl in this class of 2014! Australia have been sending strong girls lately which I am very happy about that. Australia have been at least in top 16, 10, 5 for the last few years which that would be predictable that Tegan will be. She’s my pick for top 5. I have been watching her and enjoyed what she has been doing and love her wardrobes. I love her preliminary gown! Its gorgeous color and well executed and well polished.
Dominican Republic: Kimberly.. Kimberly… What can I say about this girl. She left me being breathless! She is another version of Amelia Vega, Miss Universe. I loved everything, the way she carry herself on the stage. When she stepped down in swimming suit competition, thats the exactly what girls should do on the stage – the whole thing of her is IMPECCABLE!
Remaining Top 10:
Jamaica: Kaci is wow! This girl is a mind blowing person. I have been watching her and NOTHING goes wrong with everything she does, especially her gowns. If she doesn’t go that far in Miss Universe, I promise you guys, she will go very far in other things. I can see her future will be very successful and bright. She’s on line for grabbing the 5th spot or fall into 6th place. I can’t decide on her. I do believe that they should have top 6. I loved her gown – I will be happy with either one that we saw.
Ecuador: Alejandra is another person that we need to watch possibility steal a spot for top 5 along with Jamaica. This girl is a fresh breathtaking. One thing I didn’t really like her upper part of her gown. But the yellow looks good and she knows how to wear it and play with the “open flow” part. I loved Ecuador 2013 and was floored by her and happy she was in top 5. Ecuador is sending strong girls for last two years. I wouldn’t be surprised if they would be catching up with other South America girls to compete for Miss Universe Crown.
Lithuania: Patricija would be the first Lithuania to make in top 10. I pray to god that she will be in because this girl is amazing on the stage. I was so happy that she switch her dress to a better one. The one she wore on the preliminary got me to confirm that she’s in my top 10.
USA: Nia- our girl, we are so proud of her. She did a fabulous job and being consistency on the whole 3 weeks of Miss Universe. Her wardrobe are flawless especially her red gown at the preliminary! I fell in love with that gown. No dress can go wrong on her. She’s one of the strong Miss USA I ever seen on the stage. I definitely enjoy watching her. She make us very proud of her. She is a sweetheart in person when I met her back at Arizona USA pageant in 2012.
Argentina: Valentina is one of the strongest Argentina Universe they send from Argentina which I am very pleased to see. I have always wanted to see Argentina do very well at Miss Universe. She accomplished it very well and carry it perfectly on the stage at preliminary. I love her evening gown that night. Its very classy, simple ( which is a good thing) and add bling in perfect areas on the dress.
Remaining top 15:
Germany: Josefin is one of two girls with short hair. Often we don’t see girls with short hair. She’s the one that I didn’t pay attention until she stepped out with one of my favorite dress that was from Sherri Hill. She did a great job in that dress, also another girl wore that dress amazing, Zoe Parker, Miss Indiana Teen USA 2014. I fell in love with Zoe and everything was perfect about her. It would be great to see Josefin in top 16/20 or 10 or even 5.
Czech Republic: Gabriela is another strong blonde girl for this competition. I have been watching Czech lately because I liked the one in 2009 and she made in top 10. I loved her evening gown. It is similar pattern or stylish that Miss USA wore from Michael Costello but it is long sleeves which make her like a million dollar walking on the red carpet at any awards!
Italy: Another surprise for me, Valentina reminds me of Victoria Secret models. I love italian girls – they can be fierce as much as latina but want her to spice up a little more and lit the fire on the stage with fierceness.
Guyana: Huge surprise. I never pay attention to Niketa until at preliminary night. She is a fresh looking. It would be amazing if she can get into top 16/20 or 10 to be the first lady to place for her country! If she can keep up the consistency then she can make in top 15ish.
France: I am still struggling with where I would want to put her in because she can be at anywhere ( top 16/20 or 10 or even 5) So I will just leave this comment. I loved watching her on the stage. I do believe that they send right girl to Miss Universe.
Remaining top 20:
Philippines: Mary Jean is gorgeous but she doesn’t really sold me or impressed me as Shamcey Supsup who was 3rd runner up in 2011. Shamcey is the best candidate that they send from Philippines. I am having hard time to get pass her because she was one of my favorites. Philippines does well lately so I am not surprised about her not being in top 16/20.
Slovak Republic: Silvia was one of my favorite to watch for top 5 but she fell off my wagon after preliminary night I was so disappointed in her performance. I can’t just take my mind off with that unnecessary hand thing moving with her dress. It really killed the whole evening gown presentation. But I would love to see her make in top 16/20. She may because Trump usually love Eastern Europe girls.
Russia: Yulia is one of most beautiful girls at Miss Universe. I loved her face – its perfect and flawless and whats even more her both dresses are to die for. I am sure its gonna be big hit talking about her dress in pageant world for a very long time. They send the right girl to Miss Universe. In the past, they didn’t send the great ones. I wish that they can give Russia better shot to win after dethroned by Oxana.
Costa Rica: Karina is gorgeous and I was in awe of her when she stepped out on the stage. I thought her dress was elegance and simple at same time. I have always have the thing for the ruffles/flair on the bottom part. I do hope one day Costa Rica will capture the crown. They have been sending some strong girls for last decade.
Guatemala: Ana is gorgeous on the stage and seems really sweet. I have been watching Guatemala girls since Jessica Scheel in 2010 placed in top 10 which I was fabulous. Guatemala is slowly coming out of their shell and sending better girls each year.
South Africa: I didn’t notice her until at the preliminary night. She’s stunning. I had to remind myself that South Africa do send some strong girls – Its hit and miss. She looks so classy and well polished on the stage. She could sneak into top 16/20.
Mexico: I have seen many people saying that Mexico will be in top 16/20, or 10 or even top 5 I am not quite sold by her. I feel something is missing from her. I think it can be tough to send Mexico girls after Ximena won Miss Universe She’s simply gorgeous and very breathtaking.
Great Britain: Grace is simply gorgeous but can’t top Amy Willerton in 2013. She was flawless and should placed higher than 10.
Tanzania: I never pay attention to Nale until the preliminary – something about her that got my attention, maybe it is because of her evening gown that I liked or?
Hungary: Nobody mentioned about Henrietta, I was surprised because I liked her and something about her is unique that I can’t figure out. It would be nice to see another semifinalist place for Hungary again.
Japan: Keiko surprise me at the preliminary but not as good as Riyo, Miss Universe 2007.
Venezuela: Many people say that she will be in top 16/20 and 10 and 5. I see her as its possibility she will be in top 16/20 or 10 thats it. I didn’t realized that she was only 19. If she gives 2 or 3 years, then it will be all hers. I love Venezuela girls, they are drop dead gorgeous All venezeula universe girls are stunning in their own ways. Nothing can go wrong with those girls – I have seen the video of how they process picking out the girls for Universe. It amazes me! Their wardrobes are to die for and I am a HUGE fan of Gionni Straccia! They are flawless on the stage!
Guam: Brittany may not walk as Miss Universe but she walk away with Miss Congenality! I love her. I was able to meet her a few times for the last few years and she’s adorable in person. She is gorgeous and loved watching her growing up to one fine young lady. I loved her evening gown on the stage. It was perfect one. One of the best evening gowns I seen that night and it stands out.
Serbia: Andjelka is beautiful but I tried to get past by her preliminary presentation and I couldn’t understand see what other people see her as in top 5. I wasn’t impressed with her from the stage presentation and wasn’t happy with her choice of gown. I just wish she would have wore her
Puerto Rico: Desiree is average compare to other girls, however, they send really strong girls to represent Puerto Rico at Universe. It would be interesting to see where she will be placed this year. I love girls from there.
Lebanon: Saly is someone that I paid attention after the media thing. I think its possible that she can be in top 16/20. I like her and she seems really sweet.
Miss Congeniality will go to Guam, Brittany Bell. Its not because I personal met her but she’s a sweetheart and if you follow her on social media. You will see her having pictures with other girls or short video with others. That sold me and my heart for being well deserving to win Miss Congeniality.
