My Miss USA prediction:
First of all, before I reveal my thoughts and my top 16 prediction for Miss USA, I have been watching various social media sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram closely. To be candid with you, I was a little disappointed to see some girls retweeting overconfident messages from their fans but not replying to them or even thanking them. I think it is important to show your fans your appreciation for their support, words of encouragement, and loyalty. I believe all 51 girls deserve equal respect because all of them work hard to get to the Miss USA stage. There were a few girls that I did not mention in my blog because I wanted to respect the other girls who worked so hard to reach this important point in their lives, but it is quite possible that those girls that I didn’t mention may be in the top 16 or even win the crown. We shall see what happens on Sunday, June 16th.
Those girls I think would do very well at Miss USA. I can’t really pick my top 16 because I keep changing all of the time. There are so many good competitors this year. I would say that Class of 2011 and Class of 2013 are two very good years, so it is even harder to predict the next titleholder. I will still offer top 16, 10, and 5 along with my thoughts.
I also thought it would be cute to crown Miss Instagram USA 2013. I have been checking out the girls and their pictures. The top 5 are Florida, California, New Mexico, New Jersey, and Texas. I will announce the winner sometime tomorrow on Instagram and Twitter. Both accounts titled Pageantrocks, so look out for the announcement tomorrow.
Now, my top 16:
Alabama: Mary Margaret McCord, the 3M (as nickname that Beaux Wellborn used- which I thought was fantastic). The day she won the title for Miss Alabama, I knew she was the one to watch for at Miss USA. She’s elegant and she is also so good on camera. I keep falling in love with her every time I see a picture of her. She was very strong on the stage at the preliminaries. Nothing went wrong with any of her dresses. Either the registration fitting dress from her state pageant or the dress she wore at the preliminaries will do very well on the final night. She’s my top pick 2 for Miss USA.
California: Mabelynn is absolutely gorgeous and I loved the pictures she posted on Facebook and Instagram. She is confident which I really admire. California has sent a very strong girl this year to try to win the crown. We should see how she does. She is definitely in my top 10 for sure.
Connecticut: Erin, I love her when I first heard that she was one of the strongest Miss Connecticut USA attending Miss USA. I thought oh, that would be fantastic to see her in the top 16. I have been watching her closely and she is doing such a fine job! I also love the top part of her final dress. It’s absolutely stunning!
Florida: Michelle is amazing and seems to be a fun person to hang out with. Contestants from Florida often do not get a lot of attention because of the quality of their photos; they were often chosen months before all other states get to choose their contestants for the Miss. USA pageant and once all representatives are chosen, they get professional photos done by Benzio. That is when they get more attention; Miss. Florida, for a period of time, does not get a lot of attention until everyone else has been chosen. At any rate, Michelle has an amazing dress! I love it, from head to toe! She is in my top 16.
Georgia: Brittany has been my number one from day one – the day she won Miss Georgia USA 2013. She is one of the most genuine people, I think, in the pageant world. She would talk to people outside of the pageant world and make them feel welcome. They would soon fall in love with her. Brittany is, in my opinion, one of the strongest contestants for Miss USA 2013. She was former Miss Georgia USA 2006, the 4th runner up to Katie Blair. I love her registration fitting and final preliminary gowns. Nothing can go wrong with his girl. This girl has amazing confidence on the stage that leaves many of us in awe. She, in fact, mesmerizes me. She is in my top 5, actually, top 2. I can see her with Alabama as the final 2.
Illinois: Stacie.. Stacie.. Stacie.. She stole my breath every time I saw a picture of her on social media. I was happy that she changed her evening gown at the preliminaries because I wasn’t too crazy about the design she had for the registration fitting. Her new dress is really unique and helps her to stand out quite well. I love red on her. She is in my top 16.
Kentucky: What can I say about this girl. First of all, this girl is STUNNING the whole 3 weeks at Miss USA events. Nobody can take their eyes off of her. Allie is only 19 years old and the 1st runner up to Kentucky teen USA 2012. She has an amazing dress; I have to admit that I am a huge sucker for the mermaid-type of dresses. Everything about her is impeccable. I can see her in the top 10 or maybe the top 5. The only concern that I have about her is: would she be able to handle Miss USA with grace? Would she have a thick skin in order to do all of those interviews or brush of any possible criticism from outsiders? I think if she waits a few years to compete for Miss USA, She will definitely win the title.
Louisiana: Kristen is a stunning person. I have seen her liking my pictures on Instagram and we have also spoken on Twitter a few times. She earns my vote and loyalty. This girl has one of the best evening gowns in the pageant world. I love her being a risk-taker. I am still trying to decide whether she is my top 16 or one of my bubbles. One way or the other, this girl will definitely rock on the stage.
Maryland: Kasey is a former Miss Maryland Teen USA 2009, the 3rd runner up to Stormi Henley. I love her royal blue dress. It stands out for her, but I am not too crazy about the top part. However, everything else that I loved about her helps me to see past the dress. She will do very well if she placed in the top 16 and go far. She is one of my top 16.
Minnesota: My home state girl, I would have to admit this time that finally Minnesota sent one of the strongest girls to Miss USA. In the past, I wasn’t really impressed with them. Danielle is a stunning blonde girl. I love her red dress , whicl blew my mind away. But I think her bun was a little too high for the dress, other than that, she is in my top 16 because she is beautiful. However, her personality can be, at times, flat on the stage.
Nevada: Chelsea is one striking blonde girl to watch for because she represents the state that has long hosted the Miss USA pageant. I loved her dress. I am still debating if she should be in the top 16 or not. This girl hasn’t really sold on me yet, however, she might have a good chance to be in the top 16 because of Shanna Moakler. Shanna Moakler did very well with Alyssa Campanella, Miss California USA who became Miss USA 2011. So this girl is to watch for this year.
Ohio: Kristin is a dark horse for me; I never really paid attention to her until 3 weeks of Miss USA. Her presence on the stage was good and I hope she would place in the top 16 after Audrey Bolte as the 2nd runner up to Miss USA 2012. Kristen is also a sweetheart.
Oklahoma: Oklahoma is a state that tends to be in the top 16. She is a stunning girl with an amazing dress.
South Carolina: Megan is another girl that I didn’t really pay attention to until media the week at Miss USA. Her dress is stunning. I love it, but I think it’s more of for Miss America. I have been watching her for a while and she grew on me. She’s the surprise one that I didn’t put down as my previous prediction. She is now in my top 16.
Texas: Nothing can beat Texas. I do believe that Ali will be in the top 10 for sure or maybe in the top 5. Ali has left a huge impression on me. I grew to love her through the media week. I also fell in love with her stunning red dress. That dress is my top 5 best evening gowns for Class of 2013. Ali is a sweetheart as well.
Virginia: Another girl with a Texas heart but won Miss Virginia USA. Shannon is one of my favorites from the day I became friends with her on Facebook and Twitter. I have been watching her over the years. She has improved so much and I can see her in the top 5 unquestionably. I also love her evening gown.
Wisconsin: Another HUGE surprise and she has left a huge impression on me from. I have read about Crissy and realized that she competed for Miss Minnesota USA along with Jessica Billings and Danielle Hooper in the same year and now look at three girls representing three different states! Dang, this girl has an amazing body. When she stepped on the stage in her swimming suit, my jaw dropped. She definitely is in my top 16. I hope Wisconsin can break the losing streak after all these years!
My bubbles are:
Colorado: This girl is stunning and I didn’t notice her until the preliminary show. She has an amazing dress and she knows how to carry it with such elegance. This girl is also tall and I think she can do well in the top 16
District of Columbia: Jessica is one amazing girl that blew me away on the preliminary stage last night. She is a dark horse that I didn’t pay attention to until last night.
Indiana: I have heard this girl is also a dark horse and she comes out strong on the stage at the preliminary. So we should see how she does at the pageant.
Iowa: I think this girl is as cute as a button and she also has a beautiful smile that radiates on the stage.
Michigan: I have a tough time deciding where I should put her—in the top 16 or as one of the bubbles. This girl grows on me after seeing her pictures and how she carries herself on the stage. People are saying she is in the top 16 or even in the top 5. I haven’t been really sold by her….yet.
Mississippi: Paromita is one exotic and stunning person. I have been watching her for a while. I love her wardrobe. Not even one time I didn’t like her dress; every time I see her wardrobe, I just fall in love with her. Her dress is one of the most daring, sparkling, stand out, fast forward, fierce, and radiant I ever seen in the recent history of pageants. Some people are overlooking her, but I think if she gets into the top 16, she will go far and surprise many people. I want to see girls in a dress similar to what for Miss Venezuela Universe always wear, which simply blows my mind away. Fortunately, Paromita has this amazing designer. She is one very smart lady for doing this.
North Carolina: Ashley surprises me on the stage, and she’s stunning. She can easily sneak into the top 16.
Oregon: I think she is gorgeous. It would be nice to see Oregon in the top 16 again. A friend of mine, Stephanie, introduced me to this girl, Gabrielle. Once I learned about her cancer situation, I never thought a girl like her would have to deal with it. I admire this girl even more. She is one big role model for many girls who continue to chase their dreams regardless what they have or struggle with.
Pennsylvania: Jessica has a gold heart and I was honored to interview her for the Pageantrocks blog. I learned so much about her and have a huge respect for her amazing involvement with autism and the PACER organization. I was at Miss PA USA last year and saw her win the title. I love the blue dress on her. She has a lot of experience in the pageant world. I think she can sneak into the top 16 with no problem, that’s only if judges see what I see in her.
South Dakota: South Dakota is another HUGE surprise for me. She was stunning on the runway last night. She can be in the top 16 easily if the judges see the way I see her. In fact, it would be amazing to see if she could break the losing streak since 1974 –the last time South Dakota was placed in the top 16. This girl is very similar to Alyssa Campanella, Miss USA 2011.
Utah: I have seen her a few times in person. She is stunning. People have been telling me that she’s got it in the bag. To be honest, she really didn’t sell me, but I think she will still be in the top 16 regardless of my opinion about her.
Vermont: Sarah wasn’t nowhere near my list until this morning; I was reading an article on the Internet which states that she is one of strongest competitors for the blonde division and therefore, we should all watch out for her. So that got me to go back to the preliminary and give her another look. I admit overlooked her initially and now, I agree she can easily sneak into the top 16.
Washington: Cassandra knows how to rock on the stage especially with her emerald green dress. She did a fabulous job on the stage. Watch out for her, she might sneak into the top 16. She came nowhere near my list for the last few months! It is a 360-degree change for me.
West Virginia: Chelsea sold me at her stage pageant, but she hasn’t really sold on me at Miss USA. But she may be in the top 16 because she’s former Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2007 that was placed as the 4th runner up to Hilary Cruz. People are saying that she will be in the top 16 or even in the top 5.
Wyoming: I love her on the stage. She has a bubbly personality and is as cute as a button. It would be nice to see Wyoming in the top 16 again after Claire, Miss Wyoming USA 2010.
This year, I think it would have to be between the Greenwood girls and RPM girls. They sent very strong girls for this year’s title. So it’s possible that this year will not be the “blonde year.” But that can easily change. For instance, back in 2004 when Shandi Finnessey from Missouri became the first Miss. Missouri to win the Miss. USA crown; then in 2006, Tara Conner, another blonde-haired contestant from Kentucky won, and in 2009, Kristen Dalton, who had blonde hair, from North Carolina won the title. So the number of winners with blonde hair seems to increase as the time goes by.
