Miss USA Final Prediction 2018

Posted on May 21, 2018 by Matthew

I have been watching state titleholders and had a few favorites through the year. Some of them brought their A game to Miss USA week and some disappointed me when they arrived and just faded away.  After the Miss Teen USA final last night, I changed my list. It’s not the same as before. I could see very few Miss USA this year but I see many girls that can fit IMG’s vision.  If you haven’t read it, check out  my Miss Universe 2017 predictions and  how I compared IMG and MUO.

For the last two years, it was very clear that for Miss Teen USA and Miss USA they are looking for girls who have a very strong platform and an emphasis on education which is great idea. I believe they should combine beauty and brain.  IMG has definitely been losing people through the years. I hope they will listen to the fans. The fans are a big key to help MUO stay in the spotlight in pageantry.  I am a strong believer that social media is one of the most powerful sources to continue pageants because it allow the world to see them. There are a few well-known and respected bloggers who are from out of the USA and who help the world to continue to watch Miss USA and Miss Universe.

My top 15 prediction preference has been all over the map for the last 2 weeks because I keep going back and forth with my prediction preference opposed to IMG’s vision.

Since IMG is looking for a well-rounded girl with a very solid story, for example: Chemist and Army. I applaud for them for recognizing the “empowerment of women” but at same time, I wish they would have the inner vibes/feelings of the  Miss Universe Organization.

I am getting the sense that IMG will have these girls placed in top 15 based on their story or the modeling look.

Utah- People are overlooking her. But I have heard some great stories and people told me to watch out for her. Height doesn’t matter anymore as proven by Miss Teen USA 2018. I haven’t seen her on any favorite list.

California- She was Miss Colorado America 2015. If IMG is looking for “Miss America “ style. Kelley will be the best shot.  Only thing, I wish she would be fiercer and show that she wants to be on that stage.  But I know California will be in top 15 or win the whole thing.

Minnesota- She was also Miss Idaho America 2015, the same year as Miss California.  Again, for the same reasons as I mentioned about California. It is 50/50 chance for her to be in or out.

West Virginia- Something about her that I get a hunch that IMG would love her. But again, I am still trying to understand what IMG is really looking for.

Maine- If they want another “DeShauna Barber” Marina will be a good one because she works in the army.

Florida- Genesis has the look of a Miss Universe. She is ready and very strong with numerous experiences in the pageant world.  If IMG wants Miss USA to be crowned as Miss Universe then it is her or Georgia.

New Mexico- She is stunningly gorgeous. I loved when she was crowned as Miss New Mexico USA. She is a genius- graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering but also lost her mom to cancer in 2016. If that is what IMG is looking for, then Kristen is IMG Miss USA.

Ohio- I wasn’t a fan of her until one of my good friends told me to take a deeper look at her. I can see why IMG will be picking her in top 15. She has the IMG look and she has a good story. I have to admit the dress wasn’t appealing until my good friend pointed out that its couture and vogue look. So she could surprise people and sneak in.

South Carolina- I have her on my list one day and off my list other days. I haven’t seen consistency from her. I liked when she was Miss South Carolina Teen. I know everyone says she is on their list. I just don’t feel Miss USA from her. But I am sure IMG loves her. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she placed in top 15 or even go further.

Wyoming- If IMG wants a strong story, Callie has a very good story. It pertains to her heath problem which she uses as her platform to inspire other people through her experience by not giving up hope.  Callie will try to be the 3rdWyoming girl to place in top 15.

Bubbles for IMG; Idaho, Hawaii, Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

My prediction:

Georgia- Marianny is someone that is a Miss Universe contender! If she doesn’t win Miss USA, she better compete for Miss Colombia Universe and go straight to Miss Universe.

Delaware- I personally know Sierra. She is one of the nicest and sweetest people I know.  Sierra has the whole package.  She will be an amazing queen.  I have been watching her social media closely and every picture I see comes from a sincere heart. She and I have a mutual friend and we are both close to this mutual friend. He always talked about her to me, and I met Sierra back in 2015 at Miss Teen USA. She has a very warm personality. If IMG wants a girl who has a kind heart and soul it would be Sierra.

Maryland- Brittinay is someone who people overlooked until BAM she walked on that stage like she owned it! I would love to have a red haired girl win Miss USA. I have personally spoken to her- She inspires me and is being so positive about her traumatic experience as a victim of sexual assault. I know she helped some girls on their way to heal from a tragic experience they had. Britt is someone who everyone should be watching for the title.

District of Colombia – Anything can happen. Bryce is a very strong contender who can bring the 3rdcrown for Miss USA. Remember Texas had 5 Miss USA in a row (1985-1989) So it can happen with District of Colombia. This girl knows how to work the stage and her gown is W.O.W.

Mississippi- Laine is stunning in person and one of the nicest girls I know.  She knows how to walk on stage and staying on top of everything during her pageantry career.

Nebraska- This girl is a bombshell!  If they want to crown a blonde, my bet will be her. I love her gown and styling. Everything is on point!

Oklahoma-There is something I can’t put my finger on, but something is very special about her. I get the sense that she will place.  I love her Jessica Rabbit dress style.  It fits her well with her svelte body.

South Dakota- Madison surprised many of us including myself because she showed up at Miss USA with the game plan to get South Dakota on the board. The last time South Dakota was in top 15 was in 2016 when she reached top 10. I think this girl has a chance to sneak into the top 5. Only thing I was disappointed in is her hair and dress. But again, people say that she can get by on those things because the judges will be focusing on what she presented in the interview room.

Texas- Logan has been on the top since the day she won Miss Texas USA and through the preliminary years she competed. I am always in awe of her wardrobe. She is not playing games – She is here to slay and has her eye on the prize. I love the way she and her whole team are thinking outside the box. That dress that she presented on Preliminary night wowed me and I was floored.  If IMG listens to the fans in that they want the glamour back, I know Logan will bring that back to Miss USA/Miss Universe with her couture wardrobe.

Arkansas- She is perfect! I love everything she has been doing as Miss Arkansas and she arrived at Miss USA as one of the strong contenders. She nailed everything just like Miss Texas USA.  She is one of the heavily favorites to win Miss USA. If IMG is looking for a girl who has a story and wants to listen to the fans about the beauty, then this girl has both.

Montana- Dani is someone that people need to watch for. She is smart. She runs a few businesses. She also was nominated for a few awards from The Global Beauty Awards in Seattle. But she is not on big name pageant blogger’s predictions. I think she is going to surprise them.  I personally met her and she would talk to anyone and take every single picture with people. That is a true queen.

Tennessee- I love watching Alexandra on stage and seeing her on social media. She is one of the tallest girls for Miss USA. Kim Greenwood always sends strong girls from Tennessee. I loved her dress, hair and everything on the stage when she did preliminary. I think she is on IMG list as well. Alexandra is pretty much winning over the fans like me and IMG people.

Nevada- Carolina has been consistent from the day she won Miss Nevada USA. Of course, she has the best director- Shanna Moakler. Shanna always sends great and well prepared girls to Miss USA/ Teen USA. So I am expecting to see her placing in top 15 at least.  I love her gown but am not a big fan of the stripes near the collarbone. Other than that it’s a great shiny dress with a very fashion forward style.

New Jersey- Alexa is one of the strongest contenders, from the day she won Miss New Jersey. She wasn’t on my radar until she arrived at Miss USA, she is not playing games, and always stay on top. She is one of the heavily favorites to win Miss USA by professional pageant gurus.  She is facially gorgeous.

Louisiana- Lauren is considered one of the veterans in Louisiana USA.  I have been to Louisiana USA a few times. I have watched her – Something is special about this girl and I get the sense that she is smart. I am happy that she finally won Louisiana. Only thing, I hope that she will change her gown for the finals. Louisiana is expected to be in top 15. She also was Miss Louisiana America in 2012. She has a quite strong pageant resume.

Bubbles: New York, North Carolina, Michigan, Alabama, and Colorado.

Miss Massachusetts, Miss Florida and Miss Georgia have the best runway walk but don’t come close to the queen of the Catwalk, Miss Florida USA 2011- Lissette Garcia

Miss Universe Final Prediction 2017

Posted on November 26, 2017 by Matthew

First of all, I wanted to say this year has been one crazy roller coaster about many different rumors about many different things. It gets tiresome. I never understood why it took 5 days to release the preliminary show, when they could have stream it LIVE at that moment. This situation is unheard of. Miss Supranational had their LIVE stream without audience, and very simple carpeted runaway and only shown to the judges.

I also don’t like dividing by continents. I think that’s not fair because there are so many girls on their continents that would be left out immediately.

My top 16 caught my eyes from the day one they won their respective countries to represent at Miss Universe, but I will do my predictions by continent like Miss Universe and IMG people want.

Americas:

Peru- I really like her a lot. She stayed consistent through the entire 3 weeks at Miss Universe. I never really noticed her until she arrived. I see her as one of the strongest Latina, and one of the strongest girls Peru send to Miss Universe.  She competed at Miss Grand International 2016 and placed in top 10.  I loved her gown at preliminary.  I expect her to be at least in top 10 or 5.

Colombia- I really like this girl and she is stunning. Colombia has been sending very strong girls for last few years. I am sure she feels pressure to stay in top 3 this year. 2015 was mistakenly crowned and 2014 won Miss Universe.  She reminds me of my very dear friend, Christina Famularo-Rodrigue, who competed at Miss Louisiana USA.

Venezuela- A lot of controversy about this girl- when she won Miss Universe Venezuela, I told myself, she is going to be in top 16 for sure. But when she arrived she had some good days with styling and some not so great days with styling. So I am on the fence on placing her in top 16. But Venezuela usually placed in top 16 not a problem at all, until last year, in 2016 didn’t place. So that can put some pressure and  some high stakes for her to be in top 16.  I feel like she is playing it very safe.  I am one of the biggest fans of Miss Universe Venezuela because they DON’T play it safe at the state level. Their pageant is truly amazing like the super bowl or Mardi Gras.  I am always looking forward to seeing what girls like Kenysi will wear at Miss Universe because they always have amazing bombed dress!

Mexico-

Europe:

Iceland- Iceland, Iceland, Iceland. What can I really say about this stunning girl! I was so happy that I was able to go to Miss Universe Iceland pageant last September. When I first saw her in person, I gasped and said, she’s going to win the title and do very well at Miss Universe. Not because she has the best directors, Jorge and Manuela. She has the whole package. I can see her doing the job as Miss Universe 2017. Arna’s face is one of the most beautiful faces I have ever seen. If she doesn’t win, She will go very far internationally.  I love to see girls in action at Miss Universe because many of us cant be there. She made us feel like we were part of the experience of what girls were doing for last 3 weeks. Arna is great with social media. I think that is a very good way to publicize the organization itself. Iceland is my pick for winner and in top 3.

Russia- I am in love with Russia. This girl is very strong by being so consistent through the 3 weeks being at Miss Universe.  She is flawless. Only thing I am concerned about, when Miss Russia 2002 won Miss Universe and she was dethroned. So I am hoping she can rewrite Russia’s story and place in top 10 or maybe 5. I have seen some great and stunning girls for Russia for last few years.  She is in my top 10 at least, but maybe top 5

Germany- I never paid attention to Sophia until she walked on the stage at preliminary, until they shut down the live stream. Her face reminds me of one of the famous Victoria Secret runway models. I think Germany can go up to top 10 for sure, but maybe 5.  Sophia will be first German to win Miss Universe or place in top 16, 10, 5. It would be nice to have country like Germany go that far.

Spain- Sofia is one of the ladies with the strongest face at Miss Universe, other than Arna, Miss Iceland.  She looks like perfection on the stage. She has the height, the body, and modeling look IMG is looking for. She will go very far.

Next continents; I don’t like it very much that they pick top 4 from Africa, Oceania and Asia. I see a lot of girls from those continents who can easily place in top 16 without being “forced” to be picked top 4.

South Africa- This girl is beyond stunning! I put her as 2ndmost stunning girl for Miss Universe 2017.  She has been heavy favorite to win for the title since the day she was crowned as Miss Universe South Africa.  I never knew that she has dark hair until they showed the video. I really like both colors. The only thing I am afraid of, that I have been studying for years, is that whenever heavily favorite is picked by fans and some judges, the girls ended up not winning. I would LOVE this streak to be broken and allow the heavily favorite to win. South Africa is in my top 5.

Thailand- Maria started to grow on me.  I can see why people put her in their predictions as top 3 or winner. She has an impeccable gown that I really like. She seems like a type of person who would carry herself very well under pressure, with the haters, if she wins Miss Universe.  She reminds me of Miss Universe 1988 who also won from Thailand.  Thai people have a good heart and always want the best for everyone. I expect to see her in top 3, even though I have some other girls in top 3.  I wouldn’t be upset because she deserves to be in top.

Korea- Cho is one of the strongest contestants Korea sent to Miss Universe, other than Honey Lee, who was Miss Universe Korea 2007.  But there is no comparison between Honey Lee and her. She is unique in her own ways.  Cho seems very well prepared and probably did her homework for years to be polished at Miss Universe. I loved her gown. One of the best gowns I have seen for this year.  I would love to have her in top 10 or 5. It is all depending on the interview.

Angola- Lauriela came out of nowhere. BAM. Everything she did a the preliminary was perfection! I was in awe of her. One of the prettiest African girls I seen on the stage. They had Miss Universe 2011 from Angola. Lauriela has the face. I couldn’t stop staring at her face. One of the beautiful faces I see for Class of 2018. If they continue to have Miss Universe as ambassador for HIV/AIDS then Angola would be a good country with Lauriela as representative.

Wildcard:

USA- I will make it simple, sweet and short. She will be place in top 15 on her own merits. She won Miss USA with a strong story as scientist. If IMG wants a story, she is in for sure with no doubt.  USA was very strong at the preliminary so I know that it will happen.

Philippines- She will most likely wins the fan vote because a large percentage fans are from Asia and from Philippines. She is beautiful, but not stunning like Pia – Miss Universe 2015 and some other runner ups in top 5 over last few years. The only thing I am wowed by her is her wardrobe, that’s it.  Another hint that she may be in top 16, because Pia is part of the telecast judges panel.

Nepal- Christine is the first Nepal that send to Miss Universe 2017. That is a big deal. I watched the preliminary shows at least 3 times trying to figure her out. She is a natural beauty. I love her gown. I talked to one of my good friends. He said, “ Don’t rule her out.” Something special about her that we need to watch close. Being first Nepalian to compete at Miss Universe 2017 can be a big story for IMG and Nepal country itself. Win-win situation.

Indonesia- If IMG is looking for model-esque and exotic looking, Bunga has a good shot for the title.  I would not be surprised if Indonesia will be next “Philippines” to be dominating the Asia continent for winning the crowns. Someday.  I loved the style dress she had on.

Remember, IMG is different than MUO. They are a modeling agency. They have surprised us in the past with the winners as Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe. So keep in mind why I am doing this because I am trying to see their side and their perspective.

IMG Ideal of Top 4 Americas:

Canada- Lauren is beautiful. They send the right girl and one of the strongest Canadian to represent at Miss Universe.   Lauren is blonde and if they want average “model looking”, then give it to Lauren to earn the spot.

Peru- Prisilla is STUNNING!  She has the face, and is one of the strongest Latina girls for this year.  I can picture IMG using her for future modeling after the pageants.

Nicaragua – MUO loves Nia Sanchez, and Nia went all the way to 1st runner up to Miss Universe 2014. Berenice has the look and she looks like Nia. She has the model body. My bet will go to her if they want Nia 2.

Mexico- Denisse’s face is undeniable and insanely gorgeous!  She carried herself very well on the stage at the preliminary night even though the ugly stage was really big distraction and the lights were horrible.. If they want another wannabe “Ximena”, but not as insanely gorgeous, then she will be up there.

IMG Ideal of top 4 Europe:

Iceland- Arna, I think IMG and I would agree on Iceland to earn a final spot. I have heard from a few people saying that she is STUNNING in person. She is, and I have seen her on the stage at Miss Universe Iceland last September.  She has the whole package for Miss Universe 2017.  Everything she wore at Miss Universe for 3 weeks was perfection.  Iceland nailed this year for strong potential winner for Miss Universe.  I have seen a picture of Paula sitting up front with her people and she was all beaming and smiling when Arna walked on the stage, in one of the BEST costumes I have ever seen.  My and IMG bets are on her going very far to be in top 3.

Russia- IMG and I agree about her being deserving to be in Top 16.  Ksenia is gorgeous and has the model-esque look and her evening gown is amazing! Many experts predict her in top 3. I can see why, but I have a few girls that I think would be in top 3. However, I wouldn’t be upset if she was in top 3.

France- Alicia has the face and her hair is what people are starting at when she walks by- the only reason I can think of why IMG would put her in top 16, is because they love Iris.  I see a problem and am worried about her age. She is 18 and very shy and doesn’t speak English at all.

Great Britain- Anna has the face, but I never noticed her until the preliminary. Something about her has IMG written all over. I don’t know what and why. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they give her the spot for top 16.

IMG Ideal of Top Africa/Asia/Oceania:

Thailand-

India- If IMG wants someone to be the “FACE” for their company, India has the look, and I really like the dress. That’s pretty much it from India. She is no Lara Dutta who I personally think was one of the best Miss Universe ever!

South Africa- She is everything, the face, the body, the walk. The  only thing that hurt her is her height. She is very petite . But again, IMG can overlook that and know she can represent their agency without a problem.

Tanzania- Lilian is a natural beauty and seems so genuine on the stage and is enjoying her time. I have seen her story on social media. She has a very strong story and became very self-sufficient. She was an orphan, watched her siblings die, and came with $80 dollars to USA.  She reminds me of Miss Universe 1999, Botswana came out of nowhere on anyone’s prediction list.  I was told that the audience LOVED her at the preliminary night.

IMG Ideal WILDCARD:

USA – Its given placement for USA.

Philippines- Fan Vote. T.H.A.T. I.S. I.T.

Angola- They had Miss Universe 2011 from Angola. Lauriela has the face. I couldn’t stop staring at her face. One of the beautiful faces I see for Class of 2018. If they continue to have Miss Universe as ambassador for HIV/AIDS then it would be a good country with a representative like Leila Lopes.

Indonesia- If IMG is looking for model-esque and exotic looking, Bunga has a good shot at the title.  I would not be surprised if Indonesia will be next “Philippines” to be dominating the Asia continent for winning the crowns. Someday.  I loved the style dress she had on.

IMG bubbles: Iraq, Ireland, Panama, Paraguay.

My Bubbles:

Cambodia- Sotheary got my attention and I am surprised that nobody has been talking about her. I have seen it a few times in the past that nobody paid attention to some girls, and girls ended up going very far. For example: Angola in 2011. She won and nobody talked about her. So I would suggest people not to underestimate this girl. She is a breath of fresh air to look at. If Miss Universe/IMG want a good role model, who knows when to talk and when to not talk, she has a shot.  It would be amazing if Cambodia can be in top 16, or 10 or 5, or 3. One tiny problem, I heard from a source that her interview skills are not so strong. If she had strong interview skills then she would be in top 5 for me.

Chile- I have small soft spot for her because she is simply gorgeous on the stage and had an amazing dress that I really like.  Also, my dear friend, Javier and I have been talking about her for last 3 weeks, a Chilean telling me that Natividad is one of the strongest Chilean ladies they have sent to Miss Universe. She also was in top 8 at Miss Earth 2015.

Curacao- Nashaira got my attention with her yellow gown! It’s gorgeous on her. I also think Curacao is one of places that is starting to send strong girls. Look at Miss international 2017, Chanelle was 1str runner up when everyone thought she should have won Miss International 2017. I also loved Jacqueline who was in top 10 back in 1991.

Great Britain-

Nicaragua-

Tanzania-

US Virgin Island- Esonica is naturally beautiful and she has some great experience in competing on the international level in the past. She knows what she is doing.  She is the first girl to compete in all 4 big grand slam pageants: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Supranational and Miss Earth. She placed in top 15 at Miss World 2011, 4th runner up to Miss Supranational 2013, and unplaced at Miss Earth 2014. So after you read about her, you may want to put her back in your prediction or bubbling up. Also she has one of the best directors, Lulu Orange. I personally know Lulu. Lulu is amazing and trained great girls to win.

My Honorable Mention:

Canada- The only thing I can say that I think she is beautiful and loved her white dress at the preliminary that she wore when she won Miss Universe Canada. She reminds me of Kristen Dalton, Miss USA 2009- the facial part. I think they would place her in top because of last year. That’s it. But I think she will place in top 16 but not my ideal pick.

China- Roxana may not be gorgeous like Li, Miss Universe China 2011. I am still devastated that she didn’t win that year. She was the BEST for China!  But this girl brought high fashion and stayed unique, standing out from the rest of the crowd.  If they put garbage bag on her, she will still know how to walk in it and wear it! And if Miss Universe wants to have good ranking, and have good relationship with the world, then they should listen to Miss World because Miss World is the home for one of the big pageants in the world.

Jamaica- I don’t see her in top 16, but rest of the people say it. So she is the safe bet to possibly be in.

Israel: She is gorgeous and tall. I love her and I would also love to see Israel place in top 16 at some point.  I have heard from inside source that she is very smart. So If IMG wants to have smart and pretty girl. They may want her in top 16.

Sri Lanka- I am torn between having Sri Lanka up there or not. I have seen people saying that she is in their top 5.

Vietnam- I can’t believe that nobody put her in the top prediction or being mentioned at all.  When I looked at the preliminary picture of her, there is something that I could not put my finger on it. I somewhat can see her placing in top 16 and even maybe go very far. It would be nice to see Vietnam placing in top 16. They haven’t had someone since 2008.  Also she has some international experience and placed in top 20 at Miss Grand International in 2016 and top 25 at Miss World 2014.

Miss Universe Iceland 2017

Posted on October 11, 2017 by Matthew

Me with Icelandic Big Scarf and Devesi Bag (for heels)

Iceland made a dream come true. I have now been able to visit all of the Scandinavian countries. My dear friend Margaret loved Scandinavia so the visit was also in her honor. Iceland has always been on my bucket list. When Jorge Esteban, a good friend of mine, invited me to attend Miss Universe Iceland, I said “Yes” in a heartbeat! I was also excited because it has been one of my dreams to attend a Miss Universe preliminary pageant where the winner goes to the Miss Universe pageant.

Venue for Miss Universe Iceland 2017

Iceland was beyond my expectations! I was in awe of Reykjavik the whole time I stayed there. The Miss Universe Iceland venue was a perfect location at the heart of Reykjavik I loved the stage layout with the “Miss Universe Iceland” in lights.

The top 10 for Miss Universe Iceland came from Gardabaer, Hafnarjordur, Southern Iceland, Northern Light, Crystal Beach, Western Iceland, Mosefellsbaer, Glacier Lagoon, East Reykjavik, and Geyser. I personally thought the best evening gown on the stage was that of Northern Lights. She simply glowed on stage.

For the awards, Miss Reebok went to Northern Lights; Miss Inglot Cosmetics went to Gardabaer; Miss FitnessSport went to Southern Iceland; and Miss Label and Miss Bianco went to Northern Lights. Fourth runner up was from East Reykjavik; third runner up was from Southern Iceland; second runner up was from Gardabaer; first runner up was from Hafnarfjordur; and the win went to Northern Lights whom I had predicted to win.

Top 10 for Miss Universe Iceland 2017

The Universe Iceland teams were beyond fabulous with the production! Jorge and Rick Esteban, Manuela Osk, the national directors, judges and volunteers worked hard to make this pageant succeed!I am proud of my dear friends, Franz Orban and Lisa Opie, sponsors of  Vizcaya Swimwear for Miss Universe Iceland pageant. It was great to see my Floridian friends who are like a pageant family! You guys can plan on me to return to Miss Universe Iceland!

P.S. Blue Lagoon is a MUST to visit! I would highly recommend attending the Miss Iceland Universe because there are many things to see and do in addition to the top notch pageant!

Final Prediction for Miss USA 2016

Posted on June 5, 2016 by Matthew

This year is a tough year – It is not the clear winner like Miss USA 2014 and 2015 when Nia Sanchez from Nevada and Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma won the titles. This year it can be anyone.

I will mention top 15 that I think would do the job representing Miss USA for the year and representing at Miss Universe later this year.

I have noticed a pattern with Miss USA winners most of the time they are not in spotlights from any media. That gives me the question of who hasn’t been in the spotlight during media week in Las Vegas. Whoever isn’t in the spotlight will win Miss USA.

This year is tough because IMG agency bought the franchise from Trump and IMG and Trump are two different people. Trump was more of traditional man and did very well at Miss Universe. IMG on the other hand is another world. It is a modeling agency, so I am not exactly sure what they are looking for this year- This year there’s been a lot of changes. One being the addition of Miss 52 USA this year and having Miss North Carolina replaced in less than 24 hours with the1st runner up to do the job at Miss USA.

I have three different ideas as to what would determine for Miss USA, depending on Miss Universe Organization and IMG company. 1) If they want fresh and young, chic, sassy model looking OR 2) they want a girl who will be the breast cancer ambassador and do well at Miss Universe to continue the streak of staying in top 3 at Miss Universe. OR 3) they want a bubbly, sweet girl that will have lots die hard fans, and have others fall in love with her and turn the Miss USA image into a positive. Miss USA 2014 is number 2- she has great stage presence and did very well at Miss Universe. Miss USA 2015 is the combination of number 1 and number 2. She is a model, tall, and slender looking and very confident on stage and did a very amazing job at Miss Universe.

Top 5:

Florida: Brie is one of the most genuine people I know in pageantry. Brie has interact with all of the winners (2014, 2015 and current Miss California USA 2016, and the rest of CA USA 2012-2015, Miss Nevada USA 2015, Miss Pennsylvania 2015) She has a fabulous coach, Kristen Bradford, who coaches many Miss California contestants and Miss California USA. All of the girls that she has associated with were at least in the top 10 and top 5 at Miss USA. She is well prepared. People have not paid attention to her and her history in pageantry. I love Brie. She is in my top 5!

Hawaii- Chelsea caught my attention when she arrived at Miss USA and is Miss Florida roommate. I knew she was going to be awesome because of my dear friend; Miss Florida who is fabulous. She continues to impress me with her photos, and she is well dressed. I fell in love with her more last night at preliminary, and her face is impeccable – She is one of the contestants that can do very well at Miss Universe if they want “Miss Universe look” She has the look. She is in my top 5.

Rhode Island- Theresa is one of the very few girls that got my attention, vote, and support because she talks to people outside of Pageant. That is when I knew that she is one of the type of girl that Miss USA should be looking at because of personality interaction. Miss USA will be interacting with lots of people every day. She reminds me of Anea Garcia version by the way she walked on the stage, her hair, her pose (stand) and her grace on stage. I know she will never be exactly the same as Anea. She is in my top 5.

Wisconsin- Kate. Kate… She is STUNNING! I have watched her from day one when she won Miss Wisconsin USA 2016 and I immediately knew she will do very well at Miss USA. She reminds me somewhat of Kate Middleton. I loved her stage presence and her hair! It is a perfect style for swimsuit and evening gown. Her evening gown was same as Olivia Jordan preliminary night gown at Miss Universe. I loved it. She’s in my top 5!

The last spot is tight between those girls that can grab the spot and it all depends on the interview.

Missouri: Sydnee is someone that I am watching closely for top 5 from the day she arrived in Las Vegas. I saw her state competition and knew something was special about her she seems like a sweet person.

New Jersey: Jessielyn is another person that I have been watching from the day she won her state competition. She is stunning. She has the Miss Universe look with her long wavy blonde hair and very tall. Miss Universe contestants are all tall. She will fit in very well. She has the exotic look that can bring the USA a win at Miss Universe. Another thing about her that I like is that she talks to her fans. That gets my vote, attention, and support.

Ohio: Megan is one of heavily favorite to watch for the crown. She has many years experience in pageantry, and that has helped shape her into who she is today on stage. Her stage presence blew my mind, and I am so proud of her. She’s another dear friend of mine. She also reminds me of Shandi Finnessey, Miss Missouri USA, who won Miss USA 2004. The way she walks, her style of hair, and the pose. She worked with Pageantology 101, Shandi and Susie. Pageantology 101 is another company that I have the outmost respect for . I also love the fact that Megan always thinks outside the box for the evening gown. She went for daring, and something different that will stand out and she did a good job in the preliminary. I have seen her previous evening gowns at states. I give her a big credit for being daring and a risk taker.

Pennsylvania: Elena is a very dear friend of mine since 2012. She’s a real sweetheart. She has the whole package. She loves to be in front of the camera and feels so comfortable with it. That’s what Miss USA is all about handling different commitments and camera rolling on all of the time. And also its great that she is deaf and wears cochlear implants just like I do. She is one of the sweetest people I know walking on this planet.

Texas- Daniella is another strong contestant for Miss USA. Nothing can go wrong with Texas. They sent Ylianna to Miss USA, and she placed as 1st runner-up. Ylianna is STUNNING. Daniella is very well prepared from what I have seen from my Texas friends post and on social media- Her wardrobe is impeccable!

Virginia- Desiree blew my mind and took my breathe away on her stage presence. The first thing I thought when I saw her on the stage! That is Lissette Garcia Miss Florida USA 2011 catwalk and I love her red gown. I did my homework and found out that she was former Miss Virginia America. So she has the stage presence and knows how to work with the audience. She wowed many of us. She was one of the contestants I didn’t pay careful attention to until after preliminary.

Top 10:

Idaho- I love Sydney. She is a darling. She is another girl that talks outside of pageant to her fans and people. She earns my vote, support, and my attention. I loved her from the state competition and still love her at Miss USA stage. She is one that has not been on the radar. I do like her and would like to see her in the top 10/15. It would be great to break Idaho’s streak after not placing in semifinalist since 2009.

North Carolina- Devin is someone that I loved from the day I saw her at the stage at Miss North Carolina USA 2015 and knew she had the potential to win North Carolina USA one day. She did it, but I am sad about Allie Dunn. Allie Dunn is a real sweetheart! I adored her and met her twice at Louisiana USA and South Carolina USA. She is gorgeous in person. Devin did a beautiful job pulling it together in such short notice. I love her evening gown, and one of my favorites in interview wardrobe! She represents North Carolina very well.

Michigan: I love Susie! She’s gorgeous on the stage- she also is well polished on her stage presence. Her gown reminds me of Katherine Haik, Miss Teen USA when she won. It is similar in color and the bottom part but different in the top. I like that color on her with dark hair. She also is a heavily favorite on social media to watch for the crown. She also has the face that we can’t forget.

South Dakota is a HUGE surprise for me. I watched preliminary more than three times and the more I looked at her the more she stood out for me. She has such confidence on stage. Her confidence is as good as competing at Miss Universe stage. People can love and hate her gown, but she knows how to work it and wear it very well. She can be in top 10 or 15 for me. It will be great to see Madison break the streak after 42 years of drought not placing in semifinal just like Renee Bull did for Delaware. That’s a huge thing!

Top 15:

Louisiana: I am pretty sure she will be in top 15 because of the fan vote. People LOVE her, and she’s totally darling in person. I have met her a few times and have spoken to her. I loved her gown! One of the BEST gowns I have ever seen. She has worked so hard to get where she is at today. I saw her at the state competition and there is a huge change in her confidence on the stage with this stunning gown that Fernando Wong designed. I loved her opening number, and the gown is something I will never forget. That got me to say Go Maaliyan! In my opinion she deserve a spot.

Miss 52 USA: I was expecting more from her, but I think she did a very safe job on the stage. I would love to see more of her because she has some advantages as Miss Oklahoma USA 2015 Olivia Jordan successor. But i think she will be in top 15 for sure.

Maryland: Christina is an experienced pageant girl because she competed as Miss Maryland America. She has a gorgeous dress that I like. So she is another person that I am watching closely for Miss USA. She is a fresh breath of air.

Bubbles:

California: Nadia is gorgeous and very fresh looking and is a model. Her dress is predictable for me because she wore the similar dress to Miss California USA. That dress looks amazing on her. I love the color of choice for this dress. I have been watching her on social media for the last week she been in Las Vegas.

Colorado: I didn’t pay attention to her until she arrived Las Vegas last week. She has a fresh and international look on stage. Her dress won me over and I said, “she can get in top 15 with that gown” in addition she has a killer body and did an excellent performance in swimming suit.

Illinois: I have loved her from day one on winning her Miss Illinois USA title. She is a darling and a very good friend of my friend Christopher who had mentioned her to me. If a good friend of mine is a good friend with another person, then I know that they are validated. I loved her gown! Her gown reminds me of Olivia Jordan, pink gown at Miss USA 2015 but its more slim on the corset and more of mermaid compared to Olivia’s gown.

Georgia: Her “cape” gown. I loved it! She walked with confident on the stage, and it reminds me somewhat of Olivia Jordan’s Miss Universe gown. She reminds me of Miss Georgia USA 2014 who was 2nd runner-up to Nia Sanchez in elegance and class on the stage. She is in good hand with Kim Greenwood. I have faith in her.

New York: People have been telling me to watch out for her. Now, I can see why and what they meant. She has a stunning gown that I couldn’t get my eyes off. I loved every inch of her from top to bottom in a swim suit and evening gown. I think she can sneak into top 15 or further.

Nevada: This girl has one of the best evening gowns I ever was seen. I love sparkle and the design of the dress! We can’t miss Shanna Moakler girls because she made two girls Miss USAs! She knows exactly what the judges are looking for in a Miss USA. Miss USA 2011 and 2014 were under her wings. Emelina is doing exactly what Shanna is doing to help her prepare. I also love her bubbly and sweet personality on the stage.

Oklahoma: Like I said in my vlog, nothing can go wrong with Oklahoma. They send strong contestants for last decade and they usually placed in top 15 or higher. Taylor is gorgeous and loved her gown.

Utah: I was so happy that Teale won Miss Utah after all of those years of attempting and now she is on the stage shining her. I love a very simple gown on her. She wore it very well. Sometimes simplicity is the best. She can sneak into top 15/10/5.

Dark Horses:

Delaware: Alexandra is stunning. When I saw her win at the state title last year and knew she is someone that I would want to watch for at Miss USA. I like her in swim suit and evening gown. I think she is doing well. She can bethe 2nd Delaware to break the streak behind Renee Bull, who made the top 10 in 2015.

Mississippi: Haley is former Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2010 that placed 4th runner -up to Stormi Henley, Miss Tennessee Teen USA, who won Miss Teen USA 2010. She did a good job at Teen USA, so I am curious as to how well she will do? I love her gown and her hair! Her hair is to die for! I have seen the big changes made since her state competition until today. She may sneak in top 15 and surprise people. She has one of the best directors- Kim Greenwood. Kim does very well with her girls.

I have seen some great improvement since their state competitions: South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Wisconsin.

I have a few favorite evening gowns. I am not going to explain why I love them since this blog is already long enough! My favorites: South Carolina, North Carolina, Colorado, New York, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, Florida and Oklahoma. Too many white gowns this year- I would love to see more diversity and colors next year for Miss USA 2017.

Interesting fact about Gowns: Oklahoma reminds me of Olivia Cuplo, who wore the gown at Miss Universe 2012,but in different color and Oklahoma added the silver around her waist. Kentucky wore the same dress as Nia Sanchez at Miss USA 2015. Wisconsin wore the same dress as Olivia Jordan at Miss Universe for evening gown preview before the preliminary. Illinois wore a similar dress as Olivia Jordan at Miss USA 2015.

Mister United States 2016

Posted on June 4, 2016 by Matthew

I was excited to come out to Mister United States because I have always wanted to attend a male pageant. I think its great thing to have male pageants. Often people think its only for women pageants. I would like to show the outside of pageant world that there are some great male pageants.

Mister United States 2016, Avery and I

Mister United States 2016, Avery and I

I know a few guys through social media before I came out to the pageant. They all are great guy with great sportsmanship that they have great platform that want to be voice and spread the news across the country. I know Rhode Island, Bay State, Ocean State, Illinois, but I know a few more before they dropped out too.

How can I say no to an event in New York City!? I also came out for my very dear friend of mine who got married in Huntington, NY. She competed at Miss USA 2014 as Miss Connecticut USA.

I was happy to attend the Social Media competition which I thought it was PERFECT idea to show the audience and judges what they use as platforms. Thank god for the powerpoint and brochures to give me some ideas of what the whole concept of their platforms. There were a few platform that really impressed me and said “he is going to be in top 13.” I LOVE the fashion first to show their unique characteristics. Nothing went wrong with any of them. I loved ALL of them!

I had pre pick prediction before I came out to Mister United States. A few of them changed my mind when I saw them in person and their performance and moved them in my top 13. Pictures can’t justify the best guess of who will be in top 13 and top 5. We all have to see them in person.

I had a chance to meet some of guys and all of the guys that I met are great guys with great potentials. I told them to not give up their dreams because I believe in them that many doors will open for them to bring more wonderful opportunity.

Andre, Mister Tourism USA and I

Andre, Mister Tourism USA and I

As the final night, remember, it was the first pageant ever and there were some waiting time which is perfectly understanding about that. I want to applaud Rene for recruiting great guys for the pageant. ALL of them are winners because they represent beautiful job from their states. I loved that they had top 3 social media, talent, and the People’s Choice. It reminds me of like Miss America that recognize guys hard work and show that they have talents outside of just the look in swimming suit, fashion, and formal wear. People’s Choice is voted by the fans on social media. It is just like Miss USA when they “saved” one girl to place in top 10 to show her evening gown before announcing the top 5. The Top 3 for Social Media is Garden State who won, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The Top 3 is for People’s Choice is Aloha State, Illinois, and the Top 3 for Talent is Hawaii, Wisconsin, and Louisiana.

I loved that they had a choice to wear their own preference of swimming suit! Its not like Miss USA that has been given by sponsors. There were a few favorites swimming suit that I loved.

Mister Global USA 2016, Christopher and I

Mister Global USA 2016, Christopher and I

I was pleased to see 12 out of 13 on my top prediction list that I made for myself. They did announce the top 3 for social media, talents, and people choices, then top 3 winners performed their talents. My favorite was Mister Wisconsin. They announced top 13, switched to fashion to swimming suit to formal wear before they announce the top 5. Top 5 for Mister United States: Virginia, Illinois, Texas, Garden State and Louisiana. They did their final question then one last look for the judge to decide who wins Mister United States, Mister Global USA and Mister Tourism USA. Mister Tourism went to Virginia who will competing in Panama, Mister Global USA went to Illinois who will be competing in Thailand next year. Mister United States went to Louisiana.

I adore guys and I see some of them that I will be friends after the pageants. They are ALL great guys! Kudos to them. I wish the best luck to everyone to compete in the International next year. I took some pictures of the contestants and directors that I had a privilege to take pictures with. Follow me on social media under PageantRocks. I hope you guys enjoy reading this blog and take a look the pictures.

Ms California Wheelchair 2016

Posted on April 5, 2016 by Matthew

Ms. California Wheelchair America was one of my biggest inspiration to see all the amazing ladies compete for such a title as Ms. California Wheelchair America and ultimately having the opportunity to go and compete at Ms. Wheelchair America 2017! I attended that pageant last year as a vendor and met so many wonderful people, but most importantly, I was there to support one of my fabulous and a favorite person in pageantry, Jennifer Kumyiama. She asked me to be a judge this year, and without hesitation I said YES!

Tess & I at Red Carpet

Me, Dr. Record & Tess

Me, Dr. Record & Tess

Ms. California wheelchair had 3 judges, I was able to meet two other judges. Dr. Robert Record is a clinical forensic nuero-psychologist and a professor at Sacramento State University. Tess Holliday is the first full figure model to be published in various magazines, she was even featured in Vogue. At first, I didn’t know who Tess was. I only saw Tess as a sweet lady who could perk up any room. Her fame was not what caught my eye, Tess was a fabulous lady who has a great heart and is a great role model for people. I am a huge fan of her and her humbleness. Tess has my full support for whatever she does in her life. I enjoyed my day with Dr. Record and Tess.

Dr. Alette, Ms. California Wheelchair 2015 & Ms. Wheelchair America 2015, and I

Dr. Alette, Ms. California Wheelchair 2015 & Ms. Wheelchair America 2015, and I

This pageant was held in Long Beach, California over MLK weekend. I thought it was a great weekend to hold this pageant because it’s all about inspiring people and each other. I was overly impressed with 3 ladies competing. Each of these ladies held unique platforms which totally fascinated me. They all had a strong voice on disabilities that made us think about how great it impacts the community.  I was in awe of how much passion, determination, and the strong voice of wanting to educate others. It was nice to see Dr. Alette again, the last time, I saw her was at the grand opening party for PageantRocks last March. I have been watching Dr. Alette closely through social media and so proud of her for what she’s been doing! She is one perfect example of what we need in this world to make it a better place by voicing education on disabilities.

This pageant is extra special and I carry it close to my heart because I am deaf and I can relate to some of their stories. I want to voice that disability is not something that people should see differently. We all want to be treated the same as others. I was watching the Grammy’s award the other night and loved it when Steve Wonder said, “We need to make every single thing accessible to every single person with a disability.” That inspires me to show that we can do exactly the same thing as other people without disabilities can.

I am looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Kathleen Barajas. I know it will be one spectacular year for her. Maybe she can be the next back to back to California to win Ms. Wheelchair America 2017!

After thoughts about Miss Universe 2015

Posted on December 24, 2015 by Matthew

After thoughts about Miss Universe 2015

First of all- My heart goes to Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines for this disaster. None of them deserved this . For Miss Colombia- passing the tile to Miss Philippines and had 2 minutes as Miss Universe. Miss Philippines didn’t have her moment and walk as Miss Universe 2015.

There were a few surprises that I was appalled about. No Italy, Paraguay, Peru, Vietnam and Georgia in top 15!?!?!? They were heavily favorite to watch for the title. I was shocked when they announced: Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico, Thailand and Brazil. I was not surprised about Brazil and Thailand because many pageant experts put them in their predictions. However, I do believe that Italy, Paraguay, Peru , Vietnam and Georgia can do better. Vietnam was in top 5 for a good while by many of us and I personally think she’s one of the best asian delegates other than Philippines to Miss Universe. I checked out Korea again because people think she looks like Honey Lee (2007). Nobody can ever top or being compared to her because she’s the best korean that they send to Miss Universe 2007. I personally thought she will have won the title, but it went to Japan. Riyo was one of the best Miss Universe other than Jennifer Hawkins, Miss Australia (2004). I knew India will never be in top 15.

I loved the National costumes- My favorites: Argentina, Australia (something different and unique), Bolivia, Dominic Republican, France, Korea, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Thailand, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam.

As for top 15, I got 12 out of 15 (including the bubbles and top 15) but five countries I didn’t understand why they didn’t placed in top 15: Vietnam- She’s one of the heavily favorite to be in top 5!, Italy – this girl is amazing and one of the best Italian delegates to Miss Universe, Paraguay- another favorite to be in top 5!, Georgia- preliminary judges- why didn’t you put her in top 15? This girl is stunning! Peru — I loved Peru and thought she had a good shot to be in top 15. They all should be replaced by: Mexico, Thailand, South Africa, Indonesia, Brazil or Japan. I never understood those girls being in top 15.

The only thing I like about Thailand is her national costume- Thats it. Her walk in swimming suit competition was flat and the dress wasn’t flattering. I liked Japan’s hair at the final night and loved to get know her about that she wanted to show the world that bi racial is beautiful thing which I wholeheartedly agree with her because I am bi-racial myself. Brazil should dyed her hair darker than blonde hair.

I spy Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega wearing Savannah’s evening gown from Miss California USA 2014!??! That dress is to die for! I love that gown on Savannah.

I wish they did the swimming suit style from last year which I thought it was amazing to have silver sequins coat and one swimming suit than too many because they can be distracting and unflattering on some girls.

They should NEVER do the voting system because I do believe that its not 100% fair. There are many fans out in the world that can weight the votes for them to go very far.

My favorite evening gowns are: Australia— Love her gown and gold/nude that well blend with her skin tone- red carpet dress look too. Colombia- Show stopper and that dress can be red carpet for anywhere in the world which is impeccable! Dominican Republic— Another show stopper with that dress! Everything was flawless with her, just like Summer Preister, Miss United States 2015. France,- She has the red carpet look and loved her simple red dress and have the best fashions in the world— PARIS. Venezuela- They always have amazing designers as Gionni Straccia and others. They always have one of the best gowns in pageantry history. I wish Japan switched to different gown for the final because that dress was a disaster. Thailand dress should be closed in the middle on the side then it will look gorgeous or take the back part out. They said they don’t judge the girls in their gowns then how would they ranked them by their poise on the stage. Evening gown has to be part of the judging!

I was happy with Miss USA and Philippines switching their evening gowns! I am curious what your thoughts about their evening gowns?

Nobody can top Lissette Garcia when it comes to runway walk! Colombia is close enough to be the best as Lissette. But Latina girls do know how to do the hip swag when it come to runway walk! Girls if you want to learn how, get a hold of Lissette Garcia!

I love Australia- they send many strong girls for last 8 years and 7 of them placed in top 15, 10, and 5. I love Belgium- I wish she would be in top 10. She’s so beautiful and one of the strongest delegate that they send from Belgium. Dominican Republican should be in top 6! They should create top 6 not 3 or 5! (for this year to make it exceptional for her). I was so happy that Curacao finally placed in top 10!

I personally think this year Philippines is the best of all for last 5 years when they had their girls in top 5 except for 2014. I also loved Shamcey Supsup! I am sure that Philippines is going to catch up with Latina girls – I get the feeling Philippines will send more strong girls after Pia won.

I get the feeling that its going to be a long rival between South America like Colombia with Philippines. I know that Colombia and Venezuela for many years, but maybe now Venezuela and Colombia will patch up after years of being rivals. I just hope that will not happen! Time to move on and just make inner peace of your own and live your life.

I also believe that 80+ girls who represent their country at Miss Universe should be proud of themselves and their country because there are many many girls out there want to be Miss (for their countries), or any pageants. They should appreciate but not taking the title for granted. I have seen a few girls on the tv acted like that.

As for Steve Harvey, I was never that fond of him because of his tv show and saw him as hosting for Miss Universe. After reading about his situation, I have immensely respect for him to owning up the mistake he made front of billion people. Many of us will never own the mistake in front of that many people. We will either keep it quiet or denial for that mistake! I appreciate his honesty and apologetic to people especially to Pia, Miss Universe 2015. I would love to see Mario Lopez to come back or Thomas Roberts.

Bulgaria is already famous with this photo that was shot saying “Pia, go and take the crown as Miss Universe 2015” I love this supportive way from girls like her.

I am excited to see what Pia will do as Miss Universe 2015. I get the feeling that she will do an amazing job! Miss Colombia, 1st runner up will be famous in different way with many different endorsements coming to her way and in the Latina community. She’s simply stunning- version of Sofia Vergara. I wish her the best of luck.

By signed off: I know this will be forever talking about this in pageantry because Its gonna be part of legacy/history for Miss Universe and its unforgettable moment for many of us. But lets talk about in positive way. Like Colombia said “ everything happens for a reason”, which I am strong believer when it comes to that quote. Let Pia enjoy her reign as Miss Universe and its not the girls fault to make this happen.

I am ready for Miss USA 2016!

Prediction for Miss Universe 2015

Posted on December 17, 2015 by Matthew

First of all, I wanted to say I LOVED the stage presence and the decoration! I love the runway. It looks much better than any years that I have seen when USA host for Miss Universe. But I didn’t like the swimming suit choice! BAD Choice!

I have been doing homework for the last two weeks and checking out the pictures on social medias, reading articles and hearing stories from other people.

I wrote three different columns of introduction, swimming suit, and evening gowns that stood out for me. Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Haiti, Italy, Jamaica, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Argentina- Claudia is a very fresh breathtaking and i love her gown- It reminds me of Olivia Culpo’s Miss Universe gown but with short sleeves. I would love to see Argentina to break the curse to be in top 15. It has been a long time until 2014, Valentina placed in top 10, I still wished she was in top 5 last year for Miss Universe because she has the model-esque look and gorgeous. Claudia is in my bubbles.

Australia- I love this girl. They have been sending so many strong girls that made in top 15, 10, and 5 since 2004. Jennifer Hawkins broke that streak and got Miss Universe Organization to recognized that Australia have stunning girls. Australia was in top 10 since 2008 except for 2013 (when Olivia competed). I loved the dress on her, gold with sequins! That dress may get her in top 5. So Monika will be in my top 10 may be sneak in top 5.

Belgium- Annelies has the Victoria Secret look in Europe version. Belgium has been not in top 15 for a long time until 2009 and 2010 that placed as top 15. It would be nice to see Annelies to go further than Zeynep and Cilou. She seems really collected and calm, and down to earth (not trying too hard to impress people which is a good thing for me) I think she can be in top 15 or at least in bubbles. If they picked European to win, It would be Annelies or Flora (France) or Giada (Italy).

Brazil- I thought Marthina was stunning in pictures but in person, she wasn’t that impressive to me. Maybe its her blonde hair that she should have dyed to darker color that would make her more stand out? But I have heard that she’s one of heavily favorite for Miss Universe. I liked her gown- I think her gown will help her to place in top 10 at least if they made the cut to 10 for evening gown. As for her ranking in my prediction would put her in bubbles. She is somewhat disappointed for me tonight. Brazil is version of mixture of Katherine and Mary Margaret, Miss Alabama USA who placed in top 5 at Miss USA.

Colombia- I have to say this girl is stellar!! But i have heard some stories that she was not that friendly and think she has it in the bag. I don’t like those kind of people that doesn’t show the humbleness from a pageant girl. I think it would possible to have back to back just like Venezuela 2008 and 2009 from Dayana to Stefania. But she is in my top 5. She slayed on the stage with flawless and fierce! She reminds me of Sofia Vergara. I loved her dress- I think that is what sofia will dress at red carpet. Ariadna is one to watch closely for back to back.

Dominican Republic- This girl is on the top of everything! I enjoyed watching her on the stage- She nailed everything. I have always pay attention to Dominican Republic since Amelia won in 2003. I knew after Amelia won Dominican Republic is going to be next “ Venezuela” Their time will catch up soon. I also am in love with Renata (2005), Marianne (2008) and Ada (2009- I thought she will have won the title but it went to Stefania, Miss Venezuela). Clarissa is in my top 5 for sure.

Finland- she’s fresh looking and something about her that I liked. Her dress is like Jessica the rabbit. She wore same dress as Miss Nevada USA 2013, Chelsea Caldwell. She is in my bubbles.

France- Flora has been my favorite to watch for the title the day she arrived to Las Vegas. She is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way she carry herself on the stage and loved her gown— Red can’t go wrong with any girls, her dress is flawless with simplicity and elegant. Top 5-ish for me.

Georgia- This girl didn’t get my attention until tonight at the preliminary- she’s STUNNING! I know that people have mentioned her as one of their favorites. It would be great to see Georgia to break the curse to make at least finalist. I think she has a good chance to be in top 15, maybe top 10. I wondered if Joey Galon design her dress because it reminds me of Miss Nevada USA 2015, Brittany McGowan’s dress for Miss USA 2015.

Germany- I don’t understand why people don’t talk about her. I have fall in love with her at the day she arrived at Miss Universe in Las Vegas. I think they send strong German this year. I loved her dress it’s very simple but elegant at same time. This girl is definitely dark horse. I get feeling she is overlooked. I would love her to be in top 15 but probably will not be placed in top 15. But she is a sweet to look at and well presence on the stage.

Haiti- Well done on the stage- I never knew that she was former Miss New York Teen 2011. Excellent job to Lulu Orange! She trained this girl and dressed her! I was overall impressed with her! She’s in my top 15.

Italy- Giada is a dark horse for sure and I LOVE IT! Italian girls are stunning and often overlooked at the pageant. I loved last year (2014), and 1996. She can sneak in top 5 by surprising us. But I think she is going to be in top 10 on my prediction list.

Jamaica- They send a decent girl for this year, she surprise me on the stage because she was under radar and overlooked until she pop on the stage. I loved her evening gown that is where she got my attention and possibility in top 15 but at least bubbles. But no one can be as good as Kaci (2014) and Yendi (2010).

Norway- Martine is a beautiful girl, I think they finally send the right girl to Miss Universe. I would love to say she’s in my bubbles, but I doubt she will placed in top 15

Panama- Gladys is pleasure to watch on the stage. Something about her that I really like- Maybe she reminds me of Justine Pasek, Miss Universe 2002 (after Russia dethroned). She has sweet look on the stage. But she’s in my bubbles.

Paraguay- Myriam is going to be in top 2 (at least in PageantRocks eyes) she is FLAWLESS tonight! I loved every single thing she have done on the stage. It would be great to see her as winner for Miss Universe 2015 because last time Miss Paraguay placed in top 5 was in 2004 and 2006. Yanina was one of my favorite Miss Paraguay back in 2004.

Peru- Laura is gorgeous on the stage and one of heavily favorite to watch for the title. I get the feeling she can placed at least for top 10 for sure but may be in 5.

Philippines- Pia is going to be in top 5 unquestionably after being in top 5 for 4 years in row from 2010-2013 and 2014 as top 10 (Mary Jean broke the top 5) So Pia will be in top 5. They keep sending strong girls since 2010. I heard that Joey Galon designed a dress for Pia. So I am hoping that Pia will wear something different at the finals. I get the feeling she is saving for the BEST toward end. However, red sit well for her.

Russia- Vladislava, I feel bad for Russia because they do have beautiful girls that I have been watching, but Oxana kinda of ruined the chances for other Russia to place in top 15, 10, 5. I think this girl can be in top 10. Her gown is one of the best gowns I ever seen. It reminds me of Paulina Vega’s gown as Miss Colombia when she won Miss Universe 2014. One of the most classiest and elegant dress I ever seen. I just wished she smiled more and her hair is perfect for the gown.

Spain- Carla is not bad at preliminary but they have beautiful Spain girls to compete. Desiree (2014), Patricia (2013), Eva (2001) and Helen (2000) are the best and strongest one ever that they send to Miss Universe. One day, Spain will be next strong latin country to win multiple time just like Venezuela.

Thailand-Aniporn is very fresh breathtaking on the stage. She’s on many other peoples favorite list to be in top 15 and 10. But she is not on my top 15. But she may be in top 15.

Ukraine- Anna is beautiful on the stage but not strongest one compare to Diana (2014- that evening gown is to die for to look at and wear it), and Anna (2010). Ukraine is the strongest Eastern Europe country for Miss Universe that will catch up and one day Ukraine will capture the title. But she is not in my top 15 nor bubbles.

USA- Olivia is definitely going to be in top 5 unquestionably because she is one of strongest Miss USA that can place in top 5 with Nia Sanchez, Miss USA 2014. Nia Sanchez, Miss USA 2014, 1st runner up to Miss Universe 2014 worked with Jorge Estaban, one of the best interview coach in the world. Olivia is well prepared by Shandi Finnessey and her former director- Kristen Bradford.

Venezuela- Mariana is beautiful to watch on the stage- All of the years being trained by Osmel Sousa, His girls always placed in top 15, 10, 5 and rarely missed the placement. So I expected Mariana at least in top 15, but the rest of the the placement, I am not sure. She can surprise people. Nothing can go wrong with evening gown for ANY Venezuela girls. I have always loved their gowns. 41 girls placed in top 15, 10, 5 and winners since 1952 and since 1971, Miss Venezuela placed in top 15, 10, 5 and winners except for 1980, 1982 2004 (broke the streak), 2006 (she should have be in top 15), and 2010. Mariana must feel pressure to continue carry the legacy to place in at least top 15 for this year.

Vietnam- Huong seems a really sweet girl that really appreciate to be at Miss Universe. I loved her gown. Often they send alright girls to Miss Universe but this year, I believe that they send the right girl for possibility to win Miss Universe. It has been drought years for them not having girls placing in top 15, 10, 5. It would be nice to see Houng in top 10 and maybe 5. She is in my top 10. Swan on her dress is gorgeous, I believe that mean good luck in Vietnam or something like that. It is something meaningful in their country.

Surprise for me: Georgia- I have seen her around and people were talking about how stunning she is. It was proved tonight on the stage- She’s breathtaking.
Costa Rica- I have always had a thing for Costa Rica – they send pretty girls but not last strong as back in 2004 when Shandi Finnessey was 1st runner up to MIss Australia. I think this girl has a potential to be in top 15. She seems genuine.

I was surprised to see people not talking about Haiti, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Norway, Panama, Russia, and South Africa. I think they all have good chance to be in top 15 for Miss Universe.

Huge disappointment for me- Tanzania and Sweden on the stage. I loved them on social media and absolutely gorgeous. Denmark was walking awkward in her swimming suit but her face is gorgeous! She was one of my favorite for top 15 but now it went off the list for prediction.

I have heard that Japan and India were heavily favorites to watch for the title. I personally never find them that stellar compare to other girls and it showed on the stage that something was missing- maybe lack of energy or charming?

Bad dresses:
Croatia- It is like drapes that goes on top of her chest! Bad choice but the rest are simplicity which I love that.
Guatemala- I felt bad for her because she seems a really sweet and trying to have fun but her wardrobe wasn’t that great and what was she thinking of having the bottom part to be like clown collar! I get the feeling she will be famous for that hideous dress and her welcoming party dress. The best Guatemala girl that they send to Miss Universe was 2010 when she placed in top 10.
Ghana- Her dress need to be well executed on the split part but rest of it looks alright to me. Poor girl, she seems awkward in that dress. Nana Meriewether wore similar dress but the best when she competed for Miss USA 2012.
What was Japan thinking about her gown, it was not that impressive for me- I know she may want to look more furistic and fast forward but maybe have the line taken out and change the shillitoute to different color then it may will work for her. Lebanon- I didn’t liked the design on her because it doesn’t look that great and flattering on her.

Finland wore same dress as Miss Nevada USA, Chelsea Caldwell at Miss USA 2013. Denmark dress reminds me of Brittany Oldehoff, Miss Florida USA 2014 at Miss USA I have seen a dress that Tanzania wore from the other national pageant. Can anyone help me to figure out who else wore that dress.

Only 9 girls ( I believe) kept their gowns from the officially photo when they arrived in Las Vegas. I am hoping for Philippines and USA to change their gowns.

Dominican Republic looks like one of my very dear and special friend, Summer Preister, Miss United States 2015. But girl, Summer is the best. If Dominican republic wins, then Summer can win Miss USA and go to Miss Universe and win the whole thing!

I get the feeling It is going be Latina year again to win Miss Universe, but I can be dead wrong. I would LOVE to have Europe to win Miss Universe: If that is the case, Belgium or France or Italy for win. If that is the case for Asia, it would be Philippines or Vietnam. We shall see who win on this Sunday, December 20, 2015.

Recap:
My top 15: Haiti, Venezuela, Belgium, Russia (or 10)

My top 10: Australia, Italy, Peru, Georgia, Vietnam

My top 5/6:
Philippines, Colombia, Dominican Republic, USA, France, Paraguay.

Australia, Peru, Italy, Vietnam, Belgium can be in top 15, 10, 5.

Alot of bubbles: (no random in order) – Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Curacao (loved her and other best girl from here compete in 1991, Jacqueline), Finland (praying she may be in top 15) Germany (praying she may in top 15), Indonesia, Ireland (cant top Rozanna (2010), Japan, (cant top Riyo (Miss Universe 2007), Netherlands (cant top Pauline, 1991)Panama, Russia, and Thailand.

Again, I m having tough time to decide who placed in 15, 10, 5 but I know one thing for sure one of those girls I mentioned earlier will win Miss Universe 2015!

Mrs. US Universal 2015

Posted on August 15, 2015 by Matthew

I am truly honored to have the privilege to attend Mrs. US Universal pageant in Reno, Nevada on June 16-18, 2015. PageantRocks is very proud to sponsor Mrs. USA Universal.

Red Carpet moment

I had my top 6 picks and my top 6 made in top 5. I was pleased to see the top 5 and it was very solid top 5 that can do very well at Mrs. Universe pageant in Belarus. Mrs. Louisiana won as Mrs. US Universal 2015. I learned that she involved with the military and that impressed me with her determination, strong-willed, and importantly the self-discipline and her grace on the stage.

I was starstruck by Mrs. Universe 2014 who won from the USA. Sabrina is a southern belle girl who is from Georgia, who won Mrs. USA Universal 2014 and went to Mrs. Universe in Malaysia and won the title. Sabrina is a darling and who loves to mingle with people. That’s what beauty queen titleholder should be doing. Sabrina has the personality that people can fall in love with her right away.

I was blown away by the FABULOUS Victoria Hughes, the director for Mrs. US Universal and Mrs. Universe pageants by her professional and caring for the girls. I have been watching people in general by how they interact with others and how they treat people. It was the first time to meet Victoria in person after a couple of years talking on social medias and immediately, she embrace me as her pageant family and welcoming me. My heart was sold to her by her genuine, caring, attentive and most important her professional!

At red carpet and after the pageant: she made sure she hugs ALL of her girls and telling them that she’s proud of them and course, taking pictures with them. That’s what TRUE directors should do no matter what happens and continue to have a good relationship with them no matter the result came out as.

Victoria made sure that the show is running smoothly as much as it can be, and I was very impressed with it. They announced Top 10: Louisiana, Oregon, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Wyoming, Texas, Pacific Northwest, Kansas and California. One of many things I loved about this pageant is that they allow top 10 to do swimming suit and evening gowns to outshine themselves. When other pageants do swimsuits, then they narrow to top 10, and the top 10 show their evening gowns. Top 5: Louisiana, Oregon, Massachusetts, Wyoming and New Hampshire. They did very well with answering the questions. I believe when it comes to questions, that’s toughest and nervous wrecking for girls because they will never know what kind of questions will come out from the judges. It can be easy or very tough ones. Fourth runner-up: New Hampshire, Third runner-up: Wyoming, Second runner- up Massachusetts, First runner-up: Oregon and the winner are Louisiana. Special awards: Mrs. Congeniality: Oregon. Mrs. Photogenic: Wyoming. Best in Swimsuit: Wyoming. Best in Evening Gown: Louisiana. People’s Choice: California. Internet Voting Favorite: Nevada. Platform Winners: Tennessee, Pacific Northwest, and Lonestar State.

Top 5 with Director Victoria:
L to R: 3ru- Wyoming, 2ru- Massachusetts, Victoria, Winner- Louisiana, 1ru- Oregon and 4ru- New Hampshire

Interesting facts: Mrs. New Hampshire, Mrs. Massachusetts and Mrs. Wyoming competed in Mrs. America in the past.

I am looking forward to Mrs. US Universal 2016! It would be at the fabulous hotel that I was impressed with Peppermill Casino on June 14-18, 2016 in Reno, Nevada. Married ladies, if you want to compete in a pageant, sign up and contact Victoria Hughes. You will not be disappointed with her. Here’s the link that you can find here.
